Never saw that film, and to be honest, I preferred the 2005 version. River was a badass.

I never saw that 2019 version, but it is available for free on Tubi.

So it looks like I won't be watching it for awhile.
Serenity 2019 was filmed on the island of Mauritius doubling as the fictional Plymouth island cheaper to film their with the small Indian nation off the east coast of Africa giving a generous tax incentive program as they are trying to promote as a filming 🎥 destination for International production.

I still have the blu-ray of the movie as well as the series that never launched that the movie was derived from.

And yes, I'm a sci-fi junkie, after fishing of course.
