My fish is bigger than your fish !

Took my son on his first Halibut hunting trip.

He has gone fishing with me many times, I always work very hard to ensure that he catches something.....but catching A Hali.....well......

Brian did not complain one time about the waves, sun, or anything else. He did get a little upset when he tried to pee....into the wind.:D He has to learn.

Brian's total for the day:

1 Sandy 16in c&r
1 Calico 17-18 in c&r
1 Hali 29in dinner

A couple of quotes from a 6 year old:

"Why don't we just eat these Sardines?"

"The wind attacked me with my pee."

"Catching Halibuts is not that hard, all your friends should try it."

"Daddy, I think I have salty butt."

"Daddy, you'll get one next time."

Awesome man. Trips with the kid are always a wild card. They can be the most rewarding, or the most frustrating.

Matt, that is so awesome! Happy for you.

jorluivil 06-02-2012 04:45 PM

I've fished with grown men that cried and complained about being on the water for 5hrs, this kid endured hours of fishing and never complained. We launched around 8am and didn't get off the water until after 430pm, when we landed he looked like he could have gone a few more hours.

Out fished by your boy...

Get used to it

Phenomenal job, and it only gets better...:luxhello:

Pretty soon, you'll get him his own yak and you get to tow him in at the end of the day...:the_finger:

Any day you get out fished by your boy is a GREAT day, no matter how much you get dogged...been there...

Fishing partner fir life!
