I tried...

But, I couldn't resist. The original idea was to just throw my donation into the pot---then, Deepdvr started talkin' smack about kicking my a$$! :D

The temptation was just too great. I guess I do still have a little competitor inside; just like all of you. Anyway, after entering late and a full schedule the past couple of weeks---I blew it in more ways than one. I had a couple of shots, but wasn't too concerned at the time, with a week left to catch a monster White Sea Bass.

Then, you might have noticed, the surf was a mess and the conditions completely changed. The ocean rolled and that was that.

So, with no further ado', here's my measly Yellowtail to submit for April.

And my tape shot.

Apparently, the Starvin' Marvin of the school; a skinny 39" fish that weighed 24 lbs. Arm-breaking fight on the surface-iron, though.

After the conditions rolled---I changed gears. I haven't fished for Halibut in a very long time. After fishing them for around a about four hours---I remembered why. Without some patience in a can, I don't know how you guys do it all the time.

I love holding the rod when you get that one, solid thump, though. I'm not sure if it was because I entered this silly tournament or the fact that I haven't fished for Halibut in so long---but, I was excited to see her at color.

The tape shot.

A fat and healthy specimen measuring 38" and weighing 23 lbs on the nose. I'm guessing the poor fish gorged herself silly all last year, too. Not the slam I was expecting, but I'll take it.

Who's next?:viking:

Hey......don't you read the rules???? You're supposed to enter these reports in the WCW section. That's a shame those 77 points won't count now. :D

Well done dude. Guess I'll have to plan on taking more time off work in May.

Noobs 04-30-2011 11:08 PM

I see your angle; grabbing at straws already. :D

It will take more than that to win, young Grasshopper!

I copied the post and put it in WCW

Fiskadoro 05-01-2011 11:29 AM

Why am I not surprised...

Didn't make it out do to my injury but figured you'd make a good showing. I honestly figured you'd have a WCW Slam (Yellow White Butt) all I got was a black and blue knee.

You know what they say though a Josh without Seabass is like a day without sunshine :sifone:
Hey.... At least you got two quality high point fish :cheers1:

Just goes to show it's still fishing... Tight lines, Jim

Roger That...

[QUOTE=THE DARKHORSE;82497] Then, you might have noticed, the surf was a mess and the conditions completely changed. The ocean rolled and that was that.

Went out Sunday after watching surf cams all day Saturday (kicking myself for not going). Water had dropped 1.5 degrees and the water looked green in places.

While I didn't spend 10-12 hours on the pond - conditions didn't look for feel right. Great day on the water though..:sifone:

JoeBeck 05-02-2011 09:13 AM

Love it! :cheers1: not a true competition without a little sh@t talking :D.

Or my old Prowler, but he has to use an Oar instead of a paddle.

THE DARKHORSE 05-02-2011 10:12 AM

Plenty of sunshine here...

After I entered WCW, I found plenty of White Sea Bass. I gaffed, game-clipped, even strapped monster White Sea Bass to the back of Hobies---they just weren't mine to keep. :sifone:

Finding a White Sea Bass on my day off was the least of my worries, really. I even had my shot, but yes, since it is fishing some just get away. You win some and you lose some; if you don't lose fish on occasion your not pulling hard enough.

We'll see what happens this month. :viking:
