Awesome photos!

The pelicans tipped us off to a huge spot of surface iron eating yellows a month ago. Always worth a check.

very cool photos. I noticed a fair amount of fry in the harbor lately, warm spell must have triggered some hatch.

Great photos. You always gotta check birds out, even in winter. There must have been bait there. And some thing keeping it there. Pelicans don't eat tiny fry. And I'm all most sure they don't eat tuna crabs either. Mike

Well I did catch greenbacks under the tiny fry. At some point in the day I would think the yellows would take a swing by for a McLunch (Mac Lunch)

I like the bottom picture with the pelican
spread eagle. So cool...

There have been lots of euphausid shrimp aka krill in the water feeding on the phytoplankton bloom. The crabs and macs are both preying on the krill. Definitely worth a look thanks for the report!

When I was out last weekend my FF screen was filled 80% of the day with red crabs. Had to turn my gain down a little to be able to see anything else. The number is probably closer to millions.

Thanks guys. I was bored not catching fish.

Here's another from that shoot, plus a project that I have been working on.

Its funny you say that. In 120 fert of water my meter was a solid color from 90 to about 30 feet, pure crab on my meter. I tried everything to see through it. I did happen to see quite a few nice streaks beneath the crab but i didnt have any takers.
