Jerry, You are great at sniffing out those awesome bargains for 'yak fishing. Now, if we had a garage, we'd jump all over this deal. Thanks anyway.

If you purchase one of these hoist make sure you add a safety line from bow to the stern of the kayak, this will keep the straps from sliding off should one side be higher than the other.

One of the Hrabor Freight reviews says the weight limit on the hoist is 44lbs

The one that was originally mentioned has a limit of 100lbs.

This past week, I ordered a Harken hoist for $150. Not complaining, though; my Pro Angler weighs 100 pounds empty and that would be really iffy with the cheap hoist. Using a $20 contraption to suspend a $2500 kayak over a concrete floor is asking for trouble, IMHO.

I have the one from HArbor fReight for my bike I try to lift my outback it doesnt work that good and was concern about weight limit issue. I would not recommend it.
