thresher shark C&R on the news

I'm surprised this wasn't posted already.

http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?se...rre&id=8247825

Couple of things that make me go..."hmmmm".

1. This wasn't the smartest way to deal with a shark. Publicizing it on the news media probably doesn't help, promote our sport.

2. He says he was worried if he tied everything down. I didn't see any rods before he flipped. Almost looks staged; like he stowed everything away with the intention of flipping the yak.

3. Why not just let it go instead of flipping?:shot:

Maybe I'm just a cynic.

I wonder if those guys are on BWE?

Wonder if the taxman was below just waiting for him to make another stupid mistake  Anybody know if Threshers and GW's travel together or close to one another???

Or some guys looking for publicity and intentionally something 'shocking' or 'news worthy'. Makes you wonder how the news media got a hold of their video clip.

I saw this this am and was wondering the same, there was a rod bungied down underneath his leg prior to flipping, also they just happened to have the Go Pro in the water as it was happening, no pfd or anyother equipment on the yak, smells "fishy" to me, but it will get alot of publicity
to say the least.
I call BS on this video

"Earlier in the day , they caught a much smaller shark"...

Question then....How exactly does one go about catchin' Thresher Shark embryos'?

When he looks at the camera after going over I am reminded of the looks given by those who had obviously staged their "accident" to get on America's Funniest Videos...

Looks like a Meg Caldwell Groupie -

A dullard nonetheless.

Man that guy musta been hungry! :eating: I'd let that sucka go once I flipped into the water! Musta been yakfishing.com'ers, definately not BWE'ers!

I find it a little hard to believe myself, esp the part where he is swimming to the surface with the "T" in hand. He must be one hell of a swimmer, that fish could of turned on him in an instant!

Wish I had that much free time to do stupid acts like that...
