Pal & MJ Appreciation...

In appreciation of your hard work, the commitment you displayed, and the outstanding job you did in representing the kayak fishing community, and on behalf of the kayak fishing community,

We knight thee Sir Paul and Sir MJ...:notworthy:

Feel better?

How about this...we are starting a fund for the two of you, to be spent however you choose...take your significant other to dinner...buy some jewelry for them...buy Christmas presents for your kids...buy a new reel...whatever you choose to do, it is tax free, spend it how you want.

Clay and I will start this gift...

Tman - $10
Clay - $10 (thank you guys) (Clay typed that...allowance $)

I'm hoping we can set up this fund, I'm sure we'll figure it out...donate as much as you can, as little as you want...does not matter...it is the thought that counts...

Thanks again fellas...:you_rock:

tylerdurden 11-11-2009 09:41 PM

bump.
I am in for at least $50

These guys put a year of their lives into this thing to protect our fishing access. They spent days away from their families to deal with the corrupt and utter crap that this thing turned out to be. I don't want to know how much time they spent at home looking over the binders full of info they were given. Whatever we do will be a nice gesture, but I don't know if we can ever come up with a gift or an amount worthy of their time and effort and headaches.

Iceman 11-12-2009 08:04 AM

Tyler sets the bar high, let me make it easier for the next guy to give a little :D I am in for $20

Matt 11-12-2009 08:22 AM

Screw it I am in for $80....I can't let Tyler beat me!:D

Holy Mackerel 11-12-2009 08:35 AM

Put me down too, I won't say my $$ amount, I don't want to embarrass anyone... (namely me :p)

Whoever it is collecting, paypal might work easiest.

C. Cary 11-12-2009 11:59 AM

Thanks guys!

I'll kick in some thank you money.

Thanks for your work.

Chris Cary

Put me down for $20 each. I'll also offer up my home if we want to throw the boys a party.:cheers1:

Grand idea Chris...unfortunately, I don't know how to do that...

I like Sherm's idea, I'd bring in my gift in $1 bills...gonna make Paul dance for it...

Any suggestions would be welcomed, but it's gotta cost ya...:sifone:

Or maybe the mods can set it up simpler...$1 to view this post:cheers1:

Matt 11-12-2009 05:33 PM

Why not ask the mods to set up something in the store? and then we can donate

Tman 11-12-2009 07:01 PM

And who said big guys aren't astute...er, smart...

Grand idea indeed...mods?

steveooo 11-13-2009 07:14 PM

Tman 11-13-2009 11:27 PM

Over 300 views...don't even wanna do the math on this one...anybody have any suggestions?

Paul, I know you won't respond to this thread...

Should we, maybe, have a party for you guys at Sherm's house?

:cheers1::sifone::cheers1:

Sorry Sherm...

Sherm 11-14-2009 08:43 AM

I'm all for it.:cheers1: :sifone:  Cigars, booze, BBQ.....we could hang out by the Koi pond and firepit and piss and moan about the MLPA process or talk fishing. I would prefer the latter.;)

Tman 11-15-2009 10:29 AM

Sherm thanks for the invite, I guess since I started this, gotta go with what will work...

Koi pond, firepit, BBQ, :sifone:, cervezas, what else can ya ask for?

Question is, how many people can you handle?

MLPA imposed No Fishing in the Koi Pond...

Guess we will pass something around for donations to be stuffed into...maybe a tackle bag?

And agreed, think the last thing Paul would want to do is talk MLPA...

Let's hammer out a date...hopefully Paul can bring his significant other, she sure put up with this mess too.

(For those that may be unable to attend, an address will be set up to mail in your gifts...)

ROLL CALL!

1. Sherm (if you can't make it, leave the door unlocked)
2. Clay

I can fit 40 to 50 people pretty easily. There is a palapa bar next to the firepit with a tiny sand beach as well. :D Three different levels of deck out back with a good view. It's kind of a party house. I'll take a couple pics to add to the post.

The wife even said it was ok with her to do this. She's a good woman.

Just let me know when you want to put this shindig together. My house is just off the 8 freeway in the Mission Valley area.

Let's do this.

And yes....there is no fishing in the koi pond. Not even with barbless hooks.

DESTROYER 11-16-2009 08:33 AM
