braided line seen by seals as a line to meals

Since I switched to white braided line on my bait stick I have has more stolen baits by seals but could be just bad luck. Has anyone noticed that the bright white braided line vs green or black braid gets more stolen baits. The seals might be following the line to the bait.

I think they're a little smarter than that, when they see a kayak they know there's bait nearby so down they go because kayak = bait

Another example
When you hoopnett the seals look for the glow stick and automatically dive right next to it because they know that glow stick = bait. One night I actually turned off all of my glow sticks and low and behold, the darn seal stayed away.

Ever since I listened to the sea samurai's advice on seal avoidance, I haven't been touched

You turned off your glowsticks? where the heck do you get glowsticks with a switch?

Promar makes two different types but there are other brands out there as well.

I think the sealions are attracted more by what is going on above water. Once they catch wind that you are hooked up or have bait soaking then they can follow your line right down to an easy meal.

I would guess it involves either a samurai sword...

...or a strategically placed iron.

Don't make eye contact, keep your rod tip down
Do t let them see the flex in your rod

When I see a sea lion headed my way I put my pole down and pick up the paddle. I've never had them stick around. It works for pelicans sometimes too.

Would this concept work on a hobie?
