Those MotherF*%$ing paddle bungee hook/posts

It occurs to me I've now ripped a pair of leggings, waders, dry pants, and wetsuit while exiting my kayak very quickly in big surf.

The culprit is always that little hook (or on my hobie the mushroom shaped post) that the paddle strap goes into, as I kind of swivel as I throw my legs out and stand up.

Does this only happen to me? Has anyone else contended with this and found a solution? It usually happens when I'm indisposed and exhausted, so I never really think to do anything about it.

Yes. Just kidding. I've been caught up on it too. However, never ripped anything. I just stand on the kayak and jump off while in the surf zone now. It totally solves the problem,.

Never had that problem. You could remove the knobs and stow the paddle on the other side.

I almost died in Big Sur 55 degree water because of that stupid paddle holder.

In the freezing water trying to get on my yak multiple times failing because I kept getting stuck on the dangerous accessory.

Be careful out there.

It’s funny-when I had my Revo 13, I was annoyed that it only had one paddle slot... now I see in part why they did it.

Dude I hated those on my OB. I jumped over to untangle my line from my rudder once and i snagged my shorts on that bungee keeper, almost flipped my yak and the buddy who was right next to me. I agree they are super snaggy/ Only think that might work would be to replace them with some that have domes head.

Just ride it in further and if necessary brace sideways until you land on the sand. That way when you get out of kayak your feet is on the ground and you can stand up.

Less likely to snag if you keep the bungee on it
