Lithium battery users

Hey just wondering what model and amp hour rating lithium battery you are using? And how many hours you get out of it? Thanks

Lithium battery users

2.5 days on my nocqua 10 ah. Small, very small, light, powerful. Lithium ion battery. That with an elite 5 TI max brightness.

TalentCell
12V/8300 mAh
8+ hours when using for Lowrance Hook 4 fishfinder.
8-10 hours when using for older model Hobie bait tank.

Been using two of these for over two years with no issues.

Selling the Nocqua 10 and using em. Hook2 5 have not ran short of power but no multiple day trips yet.

Nothing unless you want a lighter battery that will last more Fishing time on the water without having to recharge. The amount of times it can be charged is much higher as well. Pretty important for guys going to baja where power is limited at times. But also just a much better battery for a FF all around.

Finding one light enough to last 14 hours on my hds unit. For the days we go loooong.

Biggameaddict 08-14-2018 10:48 AM

Catch me with that 20lb SLA

BTW, learning to charge a lipo is super important.
Get a decent charger and it would be super useful if it can balance and discharge as well for storage.

I run my head unit with a Bioenno 12v/12a battery, I can get two full days of fishing one a full charge.

You can probably get away with any 12amp battery, as long as you are not running at the highest backlight setting the entire time. I rarely need to use the brightest setting, and usually start the day 3 or 4 notches down. It is easier to see around you without that bright screen in your face (in the dark anyway). You can also extend your day by leaving it off until you need it. No reason to turn it on while the kayak is still on the sand (or even in the harbor or Reserve).

If these suggestions don't work for you, then you will probably want to go with something about 15amps. HDS 7 or 5 around the brightest settings, is going to eat up about 1 amp per hour. I have run one of my LiFePo4 12a batteries dry in 12.5 hours on a late start sunny day, followed by another sunny day (although they are over 5 years old, and very well used :)).

[QUOTE=Biggameaddict;295988]What’s wrong with a $20 sla battery.
Been through three SLA fish finder batteries in the last five years… At 20 bucks a pop that 60 bucks. Bought a lithium battery for $100 which should last me at least five years or more. Plus it’s half the weight and last 12 hours or more on a single charge versus maybe seven hours for an SLA. Don’t regret buy the lithium for a minute and I’m a cheap bastard.:jig:

Heavy AF.

I have way too many things above a new battery on my "need to get" list but man when I get there, I'll be happy as pie. I'm really tired of carrying this slug of lead around...
