March 13th / The Search For Ceviche

The Search For Ceviche..

Ripping current & walls upon walls of finbait today...
Dense Fog Advisory was an understatement..
Some minor boat traffic including a couple sporties, but the excessive noise is what drove me to the chutes in search for Ceviche..
(Not Johnny, but an order for the Whitefish morsels that even Halibut just can't compare with.:drool5:)
:reel:

Way to go on the ceviche! Looks like you didn't let the fog ruin your fishing trip at all. Nice!

I never caught a whitefish before. How do you target them? Are they open year around?

CKallday71 03-13-2013 09:04 PM

What's that last fish? Looks like a species of Cichlid that I've kept in the past but obviously Cichlids don't live in salt water. Cool looking fish though.

Speaking of ceviche, where is Jonny and what has he been up to? TP

Well done on the bottom dwellers. White fish are damn tastie. Robmoney, whitefish usually travel in schools and are often near but not on the bottom. They have small mouths and can be annoying bait stealers. Use small hooks with strips of squid and if they're around you'll get them. They are not spiney or toothie but mind the operculum, sharp and serrated. Mike

Enjoy the ceviche!

erinoo 03-14-2013 02:08 PM

Yeah its spooky in the fog day or night. White fish is delicious, sushi, sauteed, grilled but have not yet made ceviche with it. I loaded up on them March 1st @ San Nic Is. but didn't want to post a boat trip. Nice fish Wade!

That's insane! Just wondering, what do you have for lights in this situation? I've seen those lighted sticks/flag people have on their yaks. I know there is some kind of light color regulations for boats? Red, green, or white... Right? Does the same apply for kayaks? Thanks.

Navigation Rules - lights and shapes

Rules of the Road - Rule 25 (d) (ii)
