Bumped into and old friend today...

Well, he actually bumped into me, hit my drive, circled me twice and went under the kayak three times. What a way to start the morning, that will wake you up. He was about 7-8ft long, beautiful. No fish action today, big swells, lots of bait and tourons, have a good memorial day all, stay safe.

The wife told me there were sightings of smaller GWS's up and down the coast recently. I thought she just didn't want me to go fishing.

My cousin finally got back, he will be in town about a month before heading north.

I believe he hit the drive with his dorsal fin when he swam right under the kayak, no bite marks.

Thanks for the footage from La Jolla's highway of sea life. must have been a rush!

The desperate flea bag vermin have rang the dinner bell. Population control at its finest. The Birkenstock wearing tree huggers better get out there and save the seals !!

makobob 05-24-2015 04:08 PM

The more Sea World rehabilates for release the more the GW pups have to eat.
Population control at it's finest, Seal lady they are eating your babies!!!

Give all these juveniles a few years to fatten up and then things may get interesting for the swimmers crossing from the Point to the Shores.

How in the world am I supposed to work up the nerve to hit up LA Jolla again with this video here?!?!

LBKayakDude 05-25-2015 03:22 PM

Agreed. 4-5 years from now theyll be having a tough time finding food elsewhere and theyll remember all that plentiful paddleboard, surfer, swimmer, kayak supply of food they saw as juveniles. Theyll be back.
Secondly...does anyone ever consider what the underside of a working mirage drive looks like from below...silhouted by a 12-14' greyish brown slender shaped object...on the surface of course...just wondering?
