Whole frozen squid or strips??

I lightly searched the forums for the answer to this probably stupid question but didn't seem to find one... Are the people going out of la jolla with frozen squid pinning on an entire defrosted squid or strips of them when going for YT and WSB right now?

jorluivil 01-19-2016 07:36 AM

I usually put two whole squid

YT have big mouths, WSB have huge mouths, and squid take little effort for them to swallow. Go for the whole squid, or like jorluivil said, use a couple. Mike

Out here Staters quit carrying fresh frozen squid, now they only carry seasoned calamari.

88 ranch market in temecula.

$7 fresh frozen 3lb box. And basically unlimited supply. Literally 100's of boxes.

I've heard so many opinions on boxed frozen squid. Some say WSB won't touch it because it's been bleached (youtube, WSB seminar). No info on YT.

Anyone attest to the success of a bite on this boxed frozen squid? Either WSB or YT?

My recent catch had a squid in the belly with the ink sac still intact. Do the squid you get from the landings still have the ink sac intact? Or is that only available freshly caught?

That's why you should get San Pedro squid. Its fresh frozen, no bleaching.

I would say that squid for human consumption should be plenty fine for bait, less chemicals. Besides the san pedro squid, I would say the other bait squid would NOT be good for human consumption. Ill trust stuff thats good for human consumption before i trust stuff used for bait only...
