As I was pulling in a bait on the sabiki, it gets
hit and I see my sabiki go screaming by me.

Paul, wow what a nice catch, on a sabiki rig no less. Maybe I should leave my trolling rods at home. :) Gary

Congrats Paul, that's a very nice one!

Holy Mackerel 06-29-2007 06:56 AM

Nice :yt: on the sabiki no less.... amazing! :notworthy:

wavster 06-29-2007 07:02 AM

Nice job Paul. That's a nice looking YT. What size hooks were on that sabiki? It's
a good thing they were big enough to hook that guy.

BBrown 06-29-2007 07:25 AM

I think I need to step up line size on my sabiki. I figured six pound would do it. I better move it up to 20# spectra.

spongebob_82 06-29-2007 07:29 AM

nice :yt: !

Dan 06-29-2007 08:22 AM

You were DUE. Nice one. Testament to heavy line sabikis and playing them nice and slow when they do hit. My sabiki yellows have never ended in my favor....

nmbrinkman 06-29-2007 08:33 AM

I always get the 30 lb main line sabiki.. Although I think I may start using a heavier rod/reel for it though:eek:

one of the best yt fights I've had. Long runs, big head shakes, turned me around 360 degrees
at least 15 times . Loose drags, open water, and sore arms brought her in.

ratdog 06-29-2007 09:15 AM

What a great job, I wouldn't think a sabiki hook could take that much strain

tylerdurden 06-29-2007 09:34 AM

Awesome. :notworthy:

I hooked 2 yt on that exact same mustad sabiki you used at the same time once. That one didn't end up in my favor. Way to land it. That takes lots of patience and skill. My experience led me to start using 30# for mainline on the sabiki.

rastrev 06-29-2007 10:37 AM

Nice :yt: ! And on the sabiki even better!:luxhello:

:cheers1:

GHOSTHUNTR 06-29-2007 01:47 PM

Wow! In this weeks edition of WON some guy up north caught a 50LB. white seabass on a sabiki with 12# line, I guess that's what the trophy fish want;) . Nice job on light line!

SHARK BAIT 06-29-2007 02:51 PM

Days like that are the ones that keep us going back out. Wish we all could have more. Nice catch:cheers1:

Aaron&Julie 06-29-2007 05:17 PM

NO WAY! Okay, maybe. That's incredible.
You are a talented and lucky fisherman not to have that sabiki hook straighten out, or the 15lb leader line break on you with a yellow of that size.
Congrats on one hell of a surprise.

Handymansd 06-29-2007 05:40 PM

Wow Paul! I wouldn't have believed it, if it weren't for the pics!

Incredible! on 15lb main line at that!

You are 'da man!:notworthy:

Congrats!:luxhello:

Iceman 06-29-2007 06:30 PM

F'n Paul! That is very cool, My sabiki hook ups have always pulled the hook, usually after bending em:luxhello:

lamb 06-29-2007 07:13 PM
