Good Friday La Jolla

Waited awhile to post, as not to spoil the hot bite. Fished the flat weekend days over the last couple of weekends, no luck sighting any WSB
so headed out deeper.

Here are a few recent photos.

A short trip the other day when the reds were mostly uncooperative ....

Nice catches. Looks like you had some great conditions out there too. Hope the water warms up soon and brings in some more action.

Nicely done. Some good looking reds!

the fish on the far right.. (the picture with the 10 fish)... is that a boccaccio?

blackcloud9 04-08-2013 10:44 AM

The fish on the far right is a Boccaccio. They are thick out there some
days, I release many and try hard to avoid them. They seem to eat live
fin-bait and plastics better than the reds.

The taco Destroyer strikes again!

How in the hell you don't have a curly-tail grub sponsor is beyond me. :D

Nice Larry!

taclebox I generally target rockfish from 115' to 170' - caught these around
125' deep where I fish most often.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up. I hope to get out there soon. Nice haul btw. I am envious.

Tis the season?

Right time of year for WSB start @ La Jolla, but wondering if real-time intel is easy to come by on forums these days. With decent yellowtail yoyo bite on 3/4 day Coronado boats, will have to decide next week whether to try yak @ La Jolla or jump on a cattle boat to Mex (or both) - if schedule & weather continue to cooperate.

Tight lines all! :reel:
