NPH tomorrow morning

Heading out to NPH tomorrow at around 6:30am if anyone wants to join in. Will be my first time fishing there off a kayak along with 2 friends.

I only wish! Got this thing I need to do Monday through Friday on a weekly basis..... butt, Good Luck out there! Be sure to report back on here with your findings.

Well, just got back and I have to say that there wasn't any action for us. Lots of mackerel and sardines but no hits at all.

Saw a lot of seals early in the morning and by the afternoon, a group of dolphins swimming outside the jetty had begun feeding in the bay as well.

catch some macs in the harbor. to the outside bell bouy. drop a mac down for some threshers. thats how i got mine :)

I was told the same thing by a fisherman on the dock when I came back and called it for the day. There's always a next time.

Yakin 03-16-2012 07:40 AM

Always a next time? Your mean stay the night in a hotel and head out really morning
And what is the size limit on thresher?

socaldv01 03-16-2012 08:49 AM

Nope, I'm only 20 miles away on PCH so no hotel stay for me. I consider that local since that's something I could do at a moment's notice on the weekend. Might be back there in early April again.

According to DFG, there is no size limit on Thresher Sharks with a bag limit of 2 per day.

Yakin 03-16-2012 08:54 AM

well besides this dreaded 5 sometimes 6 day a week sin we have to do I wish i could drop out on the breach that quick ha I'm about 1 1/2 hr away so a little more then a moments notice for me
But still any day out fishing makes up a rough day of work

GR6RR 03-16-2012 09:05 AM

^ I hear ya on that! Too bad this weekend sucks! I finally got a weekend free and it's gon poor :(

Yakin 03-16-2012 09:09 AM

Hey bad day of weather means Take the Wify out to dinner and a movie and in the middle bring up going fishing next weekend!
NEVER FAILS!
Unless her food comes out wrong and the movie gets cancelled then your screwed!

socaldv01 03-16-2012 09:13 AM

We were the only kayakers out there that day until early afternoon when Mr. Adventure arrived. He was on his way down to Crystal Cove. Haven't seen his post so not sure if he caught any.

Nada, the surf started going crazy breaking over the reefs at crystal cove. Water clarity was crap.

I did come across a jellyfish with a 2.5 ft dome floating that was crazy.

LOTS of dolphins and macs
