Cabrillo Beach Sewer

How is the water quality and contamination of fish from that area due to the sludge and chemicals that are pumped out to the canyon?

What about inside the breakwater due to the ship activity, spills, runoff, etc.?

I haven't been there for a while but based on past trips the water isn't the best after a storm. I fished Redondo yesterday and I could see trash floating on the surface, can't imagine what bays and harbors look like.

I went out on Monday. Big greenbacks everywhere, caught some sandbass and a 35” halibut. I was really surprised how lively it was because the water was really cold. Water quality seemed about normal. The Halibut was filled with worms which was a bummer.

I've eaten a few rockfish and Sand Bass from inside the harbor. No third arm growing on me yet.

I wouldn't eat anything that came from a place they call the sewer

I didn’t take any pictures of the worms but they looked like the worms in the attached picture. Most of the worms I saw were in the stomach cavity all over the organs.

I've caught halibut in LJ, DP, Cabrillo and Redondo and all of them have had those same organisms, just pull them out and you'll be fine.
