Who's fishing the Dana tourney this weekend?

Just wondering who else will be representing the BWE this weekend at Dana. Jose (pemex) and I will be camping friday & saturday night. Not sure our site number yet, but just follow your nose to the Pacificos.

corey

Holy Mackerel 03-08-2006 05:03 PM

Chris

Im in. Sites are all booked, so ill trek down saturday am.

PEMEX 03-08-2006 06:04 PM

Site 120 will be where Corey and I will be swimming with lots of beers and a bottly of Pisco! It's gonna be too cold for our biatches, so there will be plenty of squatter space.

I'll be fishing the thing but I'm having second thoughts on camping in the rain sans biatches. Don't want to start having those baja flashbacks with the weird noises coming from Chris' tent.

Corey 03-08-2006 09:07 PM

It looks like kurt will be joining us at site 120, so if you can't smell the pacificos just listen for the cowbell.

PlasticSkipper 03-09-2006 05:57 AM

I'll be there, too bad about the weather. Stop by spot #15 for a shot of Hornitos.

PlasticSkipper 03-09-2006 08:25 AM

Water temp is down to 55 degees in OC, could someone please sacrifice a virgin or something to the fishing gods to salvage this weekend? See you up there, wet and cold. Dave

Quick question. I usually do a harbor launch at dana. Yes, im a little girl. Is doheney a surf launch? Pretty tame? Monster rollers? Either way, im in.
Im Gonna be fishing with a cast on my leg that Im not supposed to get wet
I did borrow a pair of waders from a friend that he said were "mostly dry", should be fine
See ya'll out there. Ill be at "the spot" looking for the GIANT WSB!!!!

Steveoso,
If you had any type of surgery, especially if you have any hardware, you really don't want to get it wet. Even if you have stitches. Some infections can get pretty knarly. Just a thought

gabe

steveooo 03-09-2006 09:43 AM

Thanks Gabe :D
No surgery yet. Broke a bone and tore ligaments. First they needed to set the bone before they could touch the ligaments... surgery in 3 wks probably. After that I can pretty much bet that it is going to be WFO YT havok in LJ, probably all up the coastline, because that is when I wont be able to get out there :?
Still see you guys on saturday. Ill be the one that will smell like warm and cozy bed with a hot coffee in my hand.
And then Ill be cold and wet with the rest of you 8) 8)

Doheny

Steveooo,
Doheny is a surf launch, but usually extremely tame. The biggest wave we've seen was maybe a 2-footer at the launch, which is right next to the jetty.
It may be somewhat bigger with the current weather predictions, though.

Siebler 03-09-2006 11:19 AM

Im in, campspot 012 fri/sat. If the surf does get too large there is always the harbor launch. Ive never seen it big but i did see a few people dump a last years tourny.

You capping on me??!? Then you better get up there and hang out under the rain and drink beer with the rest of us! I hear Froman is coming up, and bringing some sake to keep us warm around the fire!

Chris

PS: We just secured a 10 x 10 easy up canopy! 8)

I'll offer a warm dry bed in my RV at Doheny campground to someone who could haul my kayak from La Jolla up there and back. I was going to haul it on top of my wife's van but the rest of the family is staying home now. I only have room for one person unless a second person wants to sleep on the floor. hornback@san.rr.com
