Hobie To The Rescue Part Three..

http://i59.tinypic.com/f4eoa8.png

Was out for another decompression session the other day, when I noticed someone on a SUP diving or floundering around in the distance for quite some time. I decided to put the MirageDrive into overdrive & headed over to double check and instantly noticed it was actually a tourist / little boy on spring break in a pfd several sizes too big, fatigued & exhausted from the current and winds that picked up and was subsequently unable to get back on his pos waterlogged rental board, with nobody in sight. PLEASE PLEASE watch out for your children or others while OTW.. This is not land. Double check and inspect that they are wearing the proper gear & have the necessary skills to survive and/or are closly chaperoned. The reality and reason you don't see me wearing one (often), is I have to jump in the drink for situations like this that arise more often than you would ever want to know..

Wow, good thing you were out there. How old was that kid? Looks much too young to be out there by himself

It seems that spring break brings out a bunch of people not cognizant of what water can do. Job well done!!

Good job! Seems nowadays that 90%+ will pass on by someone struggling and pretend not to notice.

The young lad was very lucky to have you there. Would've been a different, tragic story.

Great job!

Nice job on the rescue, most importantly being aware of who is around you and their condition. I would have no qualms in asking the young man where his folks are at, take them aside and calmly..I repeat calmly explaining how lucky he his. That PFD could have done more damage than good. Enough of my soapbox, well done and wishing you a big Hali and three 30lb yellows this year

I commend you for yet another job well done!!!
