Dana 12-15-12

Hit Dana this morning from about 6 til noon. Big tide swing today that had me hopeful, but I couldn’t ever find my target fish. Current was ripping south, which made fishing the deeper structure & kelp very difficult. About 9 am someone flipped the switch and turned on the wind. There was a washing machine mixed swell, which also added to the fun. I stuck out the deeper stuff til 10, then threw in the towel & went to Doho for a break from the weather. Doho was off color & dirty from the recent rain and I didn’t have much luck there.

I did get a few bycatch fish for my effort, all released.

That's a nice looking lingcod!

The water definitely looks unhappy with itself

Why are you not lipping the lingcod SteveO?
Any day fishing is a good day.

Lol, I did try. The blood on my thumb is mine, not the fishes.

I didn't get too far north of the point. Most of the day I was in 40-75 feet.

Other than the wind, it was a nice day. Had the same luck as Steve but I did bring a handful of these up to the boat. All released safely

This photo shows just how dirty the water was in the shallows
