Do not go anywhere near a whale carcass. The sharks in the area will be test biting any large object. Some guy in a motorboat went near a carcass and a shark bit at the bow. Left some nice scratches in his fiberglass hull. Wouldn't have been just scratches on a kayak.

Don’t go anywhere near dead whales they smell turrible.

Whale is clear of North La Jolla as noon today unless the current turns uphill. Had made its way down to the north end of the South La Jolla reserve. There was a boat there dealing with it? Maybe? If not it’ll be on the beach soon.

Boat had a compressor and was posted up right next to the carcass for a while. I have no idea what they were up to. Rigging for sea tow? Shark divers?
