Fish ID ?

I saw some birds working on bait on the top of the third reef in about 75ft of water. The sabiki rig did not make it to the bottom before this fish hit it. :reel:

This was off Dania Beach, Florida. Does anyone know what it is?

Sand Perch! Not 100% sure, but it looks like one to me

Almost looks like

A baby Goliath grouper or maybe estuary or 6 bared.
But it looks faded like the estuary baby Gouper after checking more my guess.
But definitely looks like a grouper head.

I missed another fish ID post! Sand perch is correct. That's a big one.

Sure Mitch, Here are the links:

https://forums.floridasportsman.com/...fish-id#latest

As with most kayak fishing forums, traffic is slow, and fresh input is welcome.

Yeah! Always good to get confirmation from the kayak expert ichthyologist!
