Santa Barbara Island 6 pack mothership

Short notice! Wednesday Nov 3rd

Epic brute YT and a killer forecast had me make a phone call. If I can get 5 people we will go on Joe's Parker and be there and fishing at grey light. Cost is $225 for the day. Once I get 5 people, I will be collecting via telephone and credit card. Boat leaves from Huntington Harbor. Details will all be figured out in short order.

THE DARKHORSE 10-31-2010 07:04 PM

Damn, this is tempting.

I'd love to jump on this, sounds like a blast! Too bad with my age I've gotten lazy. Can we go when the bite here dies down :D. Seriously though, I hope it fills and you guys pull some monsters off the rocks. Those stones are no joke from what I've heard---button down or lose 'em!

bigbarrels 10-31-2010 11:23 PM

Iceman 11-01-2010 03:25 PM

What the...?

Tman 11-02-2010 06:50 PM

Ouch...have fun fellas...

Iceman 11-02-2010 07:22 PM

To clarify as I have on the other 2 boards I posted this on: I was leaning toward jumping on the overnight boat for some stand up fishing as at best we were 2 people short for the 6 pack. Then Jim called me with a plan C. Driving up to MDR with the yak and hopping on his friends boat. Sounds like I may have not found a spot on the Freedom as others barely squeaked on. Supposed to be crowded at that little island. Hope we don't piss anybody off!..........catching all their fish

Looks like an awesome trip. Big 'ol Hali's and Ghosts to boot? :cheers1:

Andy, that gaff looks a little rusty. Next time if you plan on not using it for an extended period of time, try coating it with a little WD-40 to prevent rust :biggrinjester:

Man, that is a small ice chest......or some bigass fish!

Congrats on a nice day.

Iceman 11-04-2010 02:05 PM

Norm made it look too easy from the skiff, he had limits before some of us had our 1st. He moved out of the zone and spent the rest of the day snoozing on and off with 2 lines that never got bit. we would paddle out and get more squid or drop off a fish.

Jim's last fish pulling him right at the boat , he went under the anchor line as I grabbed a rod from the back

Jim getting towed to Catalina..........."that aint no yellowtail!" :D

Jim's first fish on the Boga

http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/IMG_3123.jpg

I lost one fish from pulling too hard on the 50# set up I brought for the SLUG YT. Gary lost 2 big fish and his 3rd made a bee line for this guys anchor. He graciously pulled it up with Jim's help the fish found the gaff. I later was towed into the side of his boat and they lifted lines to keep things clear, very cool guys

We could San Clemente Island at times, with Catalina and the CA coast 50 miles away.
