Thanks. Where did you guys launch from? Old mans? I'm trying to find info on the easiest launch, I've got 2 days to give it a go !:reel:

Amish Ed 05-31-2012 02:54 AM

Lovin' the local fish. Way to make that bite count.

Andrew, the only launch in that area is from Dog Patch. That's the next break down from Old Man's. New swell headed our way, could make for a fun launch.

So Dog Patch is south or north of Old Mans? If the waves are too fun there will be a cold pale ale in my hand and somethin cookin on the grill :)

PapaDave 05-31-2012 08:32 AM

Nice fish!!! :luxhello::luxhello::luxhello:

Where is Dog Patch exactly?

jcurti 05-31-2012 08:38 AM

Cool Catch!

:you_rock: How are the waves where you launched? Do you have a street name?

Iceman 05-31-2012 08:38 AM

launch is as far south as you can go on the beach, just north of the domes.

I thought they didn't allow short boards?:D

andrewtp 05-31-2012 11:30 AM

You are referring to Old mans when you say 'beach' correct?

GregAndrew 05-31-2012 12:18 PM

Yes, launch as far south as you can park. Then paddle out at a 45 degree angle to the beach going south again. That will put you in the easiest area to navigate the surf if there is any. There was next to none on Mon. when we went out.

chris138 05-31-2012 12:49 PM

Great Fish, Congratulations!!!! :cheers1:

For those who havent been to San Onofre beach park before... it opens at dawn you pay $10 and enter the parking lot from the north end by the military campground (church's) so if you drive all the way to the end of the lot it is the southern end. Old man's is where the big palapa and surfboard weathervain is. Its a super secret spot;) Dog patch is the very end of the lot... launch toward the nuclear titties. :kayak-surfer:

DID SOMEBODY SAY SQUI-SQUI-SQUID?!?!?!?! hahaha go get'em guys and be sure to heckle all those hardcore san o locals :D

And watch out of the juvenile GWS's :ahhhhh:

RedSledTeam 05-31-2012 01:16 PM

It was $15 to enter on Monday.:auto:

chris138 05-31-2012 01:24 PM

$15 now!! Shows how long its been since I surfed up there...

TJones 05-31-2012 01:46 PM
