Are kayaks allowed? I only see ticket options for float tube/shore/motor boats.

I've never participated in the ticket system for a lake before. Lake looks amazing!

Yeah they are allowed. Kayaks count as a float tube with their reservation system.

BIG JOAQUIN 04-06-2017 09:12 PM

Yeah, kayak is the same as a tube ticket. Just don't bring a trailer for the kayak. I yaked it for the 1st time at the Barrett "puddle" last year. Looking to enjoy it at +30 feet this year. It'll be my 7th consecutive year to fish it on opening month.

I'll bring cigars too this year!

hbmoose25 04-06-2017 09:13 PM

Thanks for the info guys! Might have to try to snag a ticket!

I got a tube spot for May 20th today, and let me know if you want a partner on the opener... I live in HB and we can take my truck if you want. ;)

I have an open tube spot for sat. 5/6. You need to find a ride in.:auto:

Iceman 05-04-2017 08:28 AM

Fun day, bitchen' weather decent fishing. spinner bait was my early producer, that shut off and the Fluke, worm and tube baits produced a pick bite until we bailed around 2pm. DS guys seemed to have consistent action....I am stubborn and fish what I want and drop shot is not on that list :D

Awesome Andy! :cheers1:

tattuna 05-04-2017 09:25 AM

That was a blast! Stoked I got to finally fish there. Thanks again, Andy!

Started off with a line through fluke I rigged with a barbless treble and it was one after the other. Pretty non stop. Counted 21 landed by 7:30 including this one eyed guy

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...pslkbkilb4.jpg

After that slowed I switched to jerk baits and a stick shad and got a few more

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...pszyhfqhat.jpg

Once that slowed I tied on a swimbait and got a couple including my biggest of the day at around 3 lbs

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j2...pse4sut2xx.jpg

By 9:30 it seemed like creature baits or worms were getting bit best.

jruiz 05-04-2017 03:37 PM

Where did you end up parking

wiredantz 05-04-2017 03:47 PM

John said i can't bring my kayak trailer to lake Barrett because its so little parking!!!!!!!

is this true! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

tattuna 05-04-2017 07:53 PM

Yeah, no room for a trailer. Parking is pretty cramped and on a narrow dirt hill.

Nice Frank! We parked at Pig's Point with most of the tubers and pontoon boats and kayaks. My truck is among the ones on the far left and the launch was next to the white vehicle lower right, this is the furthest I have had to lug the kayak here. We have launched from the boat ramp area too (second photo)in the past much less chaotic in the dark with everybody rigging up.
