Yes, but only if you can sell 3000 raffle tickets at $5 a ticket with all proceeds going to me.

Weigh Boat, Weigh Boat!

We have secured our 2 weigh boats, thanks to Steve O. and Chris F. These guys donated their time and vessels last year too! Thank you!!! :luxhello::luxhello:

The people that generously step up make this so easy and rewarding for me.

I know many of you will not be happy with what I have to say but I will not be able to attend this event. Sad, I know........but time heals all wounds.

Hey! There's always next year.

Does everyone pretty much use a livewell to bring fish to weigh boats? Anyone have other ways in which they can transport the fish safely?

Might try using one of those floating fish baskets that I see trout fishermen use to put your fish in. Then call one of the weigh boats immediately.

inbx3 02-19-2017 05:42 AM

I used a collapse able bait cage a few years back. Worked well but lots of drag when moving from pt A to pt B.

Onthefly 02-19-2017 07:36 AM

I might pay up just to be involved with this. Great cause, I'm out of my league when It comes to fishing with the big boys.

Iceman 02-19-2017 09:27 AM

Somebody better catch a halibut this year! :D

Bass are pretty hardy and 14+ inchers are hard to come by. If you get one and do not have a livewell, I'd suggest just using a 3 or 5 gallon bucket with bay water in it and get it weighed and back in the water. Mesh bag or fish basket in the water is another decent option.

Baja_Traveler 02-19-2017 03:26 PM

Well, just signed up - and I'm considering on trying to catch my first legal halibut (in my PA) at this tournament.

My thoughts exactly. Great cause and my son really digs fishing. I'll be happy if we can catch even one between two of us!

Big party come on down no bigboys here!
Hey Andy can we sign up at the shop? The
boy is 18, is he still in or is he paying his way
this year?

Iceman 02-22-2017 11:48 AM

18 and you gotta pay :D you can pay in the shop but has to be cash as the credit card transactions mess up my books, I keep Paypal separate from my business books.

Roman 03-01-2017 10:03 AM

Just paid! This is going to be fun! :reeling:

gabe 03-01-2017 01:58 PM

Now I am BUMMED

I signed up for this way back when, then kinda forgot about the date. In the meantime I scheduled meeting my brothers in Colorado to rebuild my Mom's bathroom. I fly out on the 14th.
Oh well, I guess I am multi-tasking supporting two good causes at the same time.

ortiznsd 03-07-2017 11:02 AM

Last year I contributed to this excellent cause. Just paid for the upcoming HOW and I'm looking forward to catching some fishies this year!:luxhello:

Iceman 03-08-2017 09:19 AM

Another great sponsor added, love the generosity of the ones that approach us to be a part of this event!

Gunner58 03-15-2017 05:43 PM

Would I be able to let someone fish the tournament in my place as I can't fish right now due to a shoulder surgery? If not I am happy that I donated 25 bucks to HOW

Iceman 03-16-2017 08:24 AM

Sure just shoot me a pm with your name and the person you are switching with and I will change it.

tacmik 03-16-2017 04:08 PM

WHAT! Only count 56 persons signed up. Need another 150 to make it interesting. Only a month to go. Great cause, great companionship and a great time. Also some great raffle prizes.

MITCHELL 03-18-2017 05:56 PM

Down wit....

That.;)

Iceman 03-19-2017 08:51 AM

Another killer raffle prize is the Orion 65 QT in "Sky" color just like the official OEX Sunset Beach one used by me. These things are amazing at keeping things COLD for days.
