Lack of oxygen is killing the fish....plus toxic algae bloom
 
With out any big words, think of it as fertilizer
Sucking up all the oxygen.
I would be lying if I said it was not scary fun fishing in it at night in la Jolla especially when big lighted creatures swim under your kayak.
