I'm 25 but definitely had my share of injuries. Lost count on the breaks and fractures. Ruptured L5 S1, canal stenosis. My last injury got me under the knife for the first time. Inguinal hernia. These injuries were what made me get out of racing dirt bikes and into fishing on kayaks. The injury I'm worried about the most is the RA that runs in my family. Both my dad and his brother are plagued by this one so I'm definitely hoping I don't see that. No matter what injuries I sustain from now on through, it would have to be very debilitating to stop me from kayak fishing.

45 years old here. Not fishing this week due to a gout flare up and back issues. Getting old sucks:D

49 1/2.. we can still use halves at this age right? The big 5 0 coming in January. Physically I still can work 12 hour labor intensive days if I have to but it takes weekend naps to recover now. Mentally still feel like I'm in my 30's tho, probably cuz of all the abuse I did back in the 80's that stunted my brain ;)

57, lots of old injuries and repairs.Old pains and new ones.Although I did divorce one;) Still haven't pulled the trigger on a kayak yet but these confessions are a help. :D

I was born the same year Pablo Picasso completed his sculpture "the Goat".

The way I feel now, I figure I have at least another twenty years of kayaking left in me.

43, but I think you're forgetting your high school algebra. Where are your ()?

lamb 09-29-2014 08:41 AM

45, been ignoring bdays the last 10 or so...
True for growing aches and pains...
Losing hair where you want to keep it, having it grow at all these other friggen places where you don't really want it.
Fo'sho - I don't have the same energy the night after fishing like I used to...

But hey - we've got 1 life; you've got to make the best out of it.
If getting out there on the water is what is what you love and what fulfills you - by all means, gotta keep doing it.

I keep telling my wife - you'll really know that I have a problem when you see me stop doing it :D

Not a member of the saltwater community of yakkers, but will contribute.

Have just completed my 68th summer. Still throw my Pro Angler 14 atop my Toyota Highlander to fish. Fish once and walk 18 holes of golf once each week. Usually pedal my 'yak five hours or so nonstop when out - so that's eight to nine hours of walking/pedaling each week.

Just had an annual physical. Doc says there is absolutely nothing wrong with me.

Cbad Mike 09-29-2014 08:56 AM
