Jim,

We use alot of heat sealers and vacuum sealers at work. If the wire element underneath the sealing surface is still good then replace the sealing surface periodically with a PTFE tape with silicone backing. P/N from mcmaster.com is 76025A731 . This 1/2" should do the job. Description says it's made especially for heat sealers. There's three different thicknesses and different widths

My girlfriend's mom gave us a Foodsaver she got from Costco. I love it. I froze well over 100 pounds of fish last summer and the meat stays in perfect condition. I also use it for game meat. I still have like 20 doves left. I froze them in a 'party bag' though, so all 20 are in one bag. I need to have a bbq so I can cook them all...

The only problem I have had with it is having trouble getting the wide bags it comes with to work. It seems like it doesn't suck the air out with the wide bags, but works fine with the narrow (long version) bags. Can anyone shed some light on this?

And here's what the foodsaver's work looks like.

Nice! Good to hear its okay. I won a tablet at my company party, and traded it with my buddy for his Foodsaver since I already have a tablet. Now I just need to catch some fish so it doesn't collect dust!! :jig::cheers1:

Keep in mind that if u buy a foodsaver u don't have to buy foodsaver branded bags. I got 200 foot off brand for $30; works exactly the same.

When I vacuum pack doves, I prep the breasts, then fillet the meat.

I only cook dove wrapped in bacon with a slice of jalapeno.

I vacuum pack 12 breasts per package since a pound of bacon usually comes 12 pieces per pound.

If only it were fish, have you read my reports? Not a single one. I borrowed that fish for my avatar. Maybe a sewer official can at least let me touch one of their butts I could update my avatar...

Any takers?

Ummm.. You may need to clarify what you mean by "touch one of their butts"...

This is the sewer crew we are talking about.. 😂

No clarification needed, I left the ambiguity intentionally. As long as I end up with a new avatar.
